In the pre-dawn hours of April 26, 2019, shots were fired near the intersection of Goodloe and Race streets in Lexington, Kentucky. Police responding to reports of gunfire at about 3:45 a.m. found two people fatally shot inside a vehicle: 44-year-old Shannon Ray Goodwin of Jeffersonville and 28-year-old Heather Grigsby of Nicholasville. Both deaths were classified as homicides.

Shannon Goodwin was born in Lexington on June 29, 1974, and worked as a mechanic and in tree maintenance. He is survived by several siblings and nieces or nephews. The Lexington Police Department investigated and asked the public for information, but the case has since gone cold: no arrests or suspects have been publicly identified.

Anyone who knew Shannon or Heather, or who has information about that early-morning shooting, is asked to come forward.
