Walter L. McLemore, 37, was shot and killed in Chicago on October 29, 2012. His death came during a year when the city recorded over 500 homicides and saw a notable rise in gun-related killings concentrated in neighborhoods facing economic hardship and limited community resources.

Police and city leaders were dealing with increased violence across 2012, with gang activity, access to firearms, and socioeconomic challenges cited as factors behind the surge. Numerous initiatives were launched that year to try to reduce violence, though they had mixed success.

Does anyone have information about Walter McLemore or the circumstances of the shooting?
