A summer traffic dispute in Lexington ended in a fatal shooting that killed 21-year-old Charon R. Alexander. The male victim was shot on July 27, 2018, in the 3500 block of Camelot Drive and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Fayette County Coroner’s Office after officers arrived at 10:17 p.m.

Police say the shooting followed an altercation between the drivers of two vehicles. Alexander was driving one vehicle; the shooter was the lone occupant of the other vehicle and remained at the scene and was identified by authorities. Occupants of the SUV Alexander had been driving fled after the shooting but were found shortly afterward. Investigators identified individuals believed connected to the incident and continued piecing together events, but no charges were announced immediately and further details about arrests or outcomes have not been released.

Who has information about what led to the confrontation that night or about the people present on Camelot Drive?
