On the night of February 5, 2018, Kala Francisco, 31, of Hustonville was shot inside a home on Raintree Drive in Moreland, Kentucky. Kentucky State Police arrived after a call and found her with life-threatening injuries; a responding officer performed CPR until EMTs transported her to Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center, where she died that same night. Her children were in the home during the shooting but were not physically harmed.
Investigators detained 26-year-old Shawn E. Faulkner of Hustonville, who had been in a relationship with Francisco. Evidence collected from the scene led a Lincoln County grand jury to indict Faulkner on murder. Authorities also noted Faulkner was previously convicted of a felony and therefore prohibited from possessing a handgun. Friends and family held a candlelight vigil, remembering her as a devoted mother and inspirational friend.
Does anyone have information about Kala’s last days or the events at the Raintree Drive residence that night?
