On the evening of May 7, 2017, 26-year-old Jordan Tyler Yeast was found inside a vehicle on Lakeshore Drive in Lexington, Kentucky, suffering multiple gunshot wounds. Emergency responders pronounced him dead at the scene. Yeast was a self-employed roofer and gutter repairman and a father to two sons.
Investigators quickly focused on a suspect, Courtney Darnell Kidd, who was identified through witness interviews and evidence from the scene. Prosecutors said Kidd had given Yeast 19 pills said to be Percocet; Yeast’s girlfriend testified the pills were fake and that Yeast disposed of them. Surveillance video introduced at trial reportedly shows Kidd approach Yeast’s car, lean in, then raise a handgun and fire at least six times. Kidd also fired toward Yeast’s girlfriend, Courtney Bowen, as she fled; she survived.
Kidd was arrested in Michigan on June 27, 2017, returned to Lexington, and in March 2020 a jury found him guilty of the intentional murder of Jordan Yeast and the attempted murder of Courtney Bowen; he was acquitted of robbery. Did anyone in the Lakeshore Drive area see or hear anything that night that might still matter to this case?
