A triple shooting in Richmond, Kentucky, on Tuesday, October 27, 2015, left 57-year-old Steve Thomas Martin dead. Police found Martin fatally shot inside an apartment on Jason Drive at about 12:53 p.m.; an autopsy was scheduled in Frankfort. Two other people were wounded in the same incident: a man with a gunshot to the head was taken to the University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital, and a woman with a gunshot wound to her foot—later identified as Martin’s daughter, Shalynn Bruck—was also treated there.
Samantha Carney was present and was fired upon but was not physically injured. A Madison County grand jury later indicted 22-year-old Joshua Brown of Richmond on one count of murder for Martin’s death, two counts of criminal attempt to commit murder for the shootings of Bruck and Carney, and one count of first-degree wanton endangerment; Brown was identified as the father of Bruck’s son. Brown also shot himself in the head during the incident, was treated at Chandler Hospital, and was later released into custody at the Madison County Detention Center.
Does anyone have information about the events at the Jason Drive apartment that day or about the people involved?
