Albert Dewey Hail, 76, was found dead at his home on Oak Hill Road in Somerset, Kentucky, on October 29, 2015. What at first might have seemed like a natural death was ruled a homicide, shocking a small community and prompting a full criminal investigation.
Investigators focused on 35-year-old Bret D. Crozier as a primary suspect. He was indicted and later stood trial; prosecutors presented evidence tying him to the events that preceded Hail’s death. Court records show Crozier was convicted of Wanton Endangerment in the First Degree and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon for acts dated October 25, 2015, days before Hail was found.
The convictions resulted in a lengthy sentence with parole eligibility in 2036. Did anyone in Somerset know Albert Hail or notice unusual activity around Oak Hill Road in late October 2015?
