Travis Lyn Steiger, 26, was found dead in the parking lot of a Super 8 motel in Shepherdsville, Kentucky, on July 10. The cause of death was a single gunshot wound. He had graduated from North Bullitt High School and was remembered by family as a loving, caring person and an enthusiastic sports fan, especially of the University of Kentucky.

Authorities identified Kevin Ward of Louisville as the person wanted for murder and later arrested him near Charlestown, Indiana; he was returned to Bullitt County to face the charge. An 18-year-old woman, Kennedy Ridenour, was arrested and charged with hindering apprehension. A jury later found Kevin Ward not guilty of Steiger’s murder, leaving the fatal shooting unresolved in court.

Anyone who knew Travis or has information about the shooting is asked to come forward.
