Debra K. Baker, 55, was found dead at her daughter’s home on Old Bell High Road in Pineville, Kentucky, on January 23, 2015. The scene suggested a violent death and an autopsy confirmed foul play, prompting a joint investigation by the Kentucky State Police and the Bell County Sheriff’s Department.

In February 2015 a tip led investigators to four people from nearby Knox County. Brenda Sue Miller, Charles Gilbert Jr., Chad Allen Love, and Varion Johnson were arrested and charged with murder and first-degree burglary after property belonging to Baker was recovered. In September 2018 Chad Allen Love and Varion Johnson entered guilty pleas for their roles in Baker’s death.
