On November 17, 2018, two roommates were found shot to death in a Lacey, Washington home after police responded to a domestic dispute call. Nicholas Olson, 25, and a 23-year-old female roommate were discovered dead from gunshot wounds. Officers were speaking with the shooter’s girlfriend outside when 24-year-old Logan Ochoa emerged with his hands raised and admitted to shooting his two roommates.
Investigators say Ochoa initially told them he acted in self-defense but later confessed that he shot the roommates because he felt they had bullied him. Prosecutors described Ochoa as paranoid and under the influence of drugs, fixated on the belief that one roommate was involved with his girlfriend. Court filings say he shot the female roommate first, continued until she was silent, then walked down the hall, shot Olson and fired an extra round at Olson’s body.
