Chris Knoblock, a 34-year-old Caucasian man, was shot in a parking lot off Martin Way East and Hensley Street Northeast in unincorporated Thurston County on the evening of Sunday, December 10, 2017. He was taken to Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia and died of his wound on Tuesday, December 12, 2017.
The Lacey Police Department opened the investigation before the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office took over. Investigators early on believed the shooting may have been connected to drugs; a person of interest was arrested on suspicion of being a felon in possession of a handgun, but that arrest was not tied directly to the homicide. A federal court document in an unrelated case states Christopher Knoblock was killed during an attempted drug-related robbery and that two other people were present that night, one named as his father, Frank Knoblock.
No public arrests or charges for the homicide have been announced, and the case is listed among Thurston County’s unsolved 2017 homicides. Does anyone have information about the scene that night or the people present that could help move this case forward?
