Department of Transportation workers discovered the body of a woman beneath the Marion Drain Road bridge on U.S. Highway 97 near Toppenish, Washington, during a routine inspection on February 15, 2017. She was later identified as 39-year-old Linda Sally Dave, an enrolled member of the Yakama Nation. An autopsy concluded she had been dead about four to six weeks and that the cause of death was a gunshot wound to the abdomen; the death was classified as a homicide.

Linda remained unidentified for over a year until authorities formally named her in March 2018. Beyond the identification and the autopsy findings, there has been little public information about arrests or suspects tied to her death. The case highlights ongoing concerns about violence against Native American women and the difficulty some cases face in reaching resolution.

If anyone knew Linda, saw her in the weeks before midwinter 2017, or has information about the area under the Marion Drain Road bridge, please come forward.
