On the evening of July 15, 2016, a shooting at a rural home southeast of Woodland, Washington, left three people dead. Thirty-six-year-old Zachary David Thompson was found in the gravel driveway with a fatal gunshot wound to the head. Two others killed were 38-year-old Joseph Mark Lamar, also found in the driveway with a gunshot wound to the head, and 43-year-old Janell Renee Knight, found inside on the living room couch with a fatal gunshot wound.
A woman who survived a gunshot wound to the face escaped the house and reached a convenience store to summon help. She identified the shooter to investigators, which triggered a manhunt for 35-year-old Brent W. Luyster. He was arrested the next afternoon and charged with three counts of first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder for the surviving woman, and unlawful possession of a firearm; he was held without bail. Luyster was reported to have numerous white supremacist tattoos.
If anyone knew Thompson or has information about his movements or connections in the Woodland area around July 2016, please share what you know.
