Jolene R. Medeiros, 38, was killed on Sunday, January 24, 2021, at the family home on South 1002 Highway 25 in Nelson, Wisconsin. She was a mother to two daughters, Briana and Brooklynn, and was remembered for her friendly manner, love of animals, and recent interest in gardening, canning and essential oils.
Authorities were called after a 911 call from her husband, Jonathan P. Medeiros, 38, in which he said he had shot his wife. Police found Jolene unresponsive on a bed with severe trauma to her lower face and an exit wound at the back of her head. Investigators noted a hole in an interior wall with hair and blood matching the trajectory of a 12-gauge slug, and a 12-gauge shotgun with a shell in the chamber was recovered from the floor. Jonathan Medeiros was at the scene and was arrested; he told police he had shot his wife and was later charged in Buffalo County with first-degree intentional homicide.
Does anyone have information about Jolene, her family, or the days leading up to January 24, 2021?
