Stacey J. Strange, 42, was shot to death in her Oshkosh apartment on West 10th Avenue on the night of Sunday, September 20, 2015. The incident began as a domestic dispute after Strange, uneasy about the behavior of the man she lived with, asked the driver who had given her a ride to come inside with her. Once inside, the man she lived with, 30-year-old Samson Gomoll, accused her of taking a magazine for his assault rifle; Strange denied the accusation and retrieved the magazine from a bedroom.

Police found her deceased after arriving at the apartment just after 1 a.m.; an autopsy confirmed multiple gunshot wounds as the cause of death. Gomoll fled but was located the same day on Bowen Street after a public tip and arrested without incident. He was charged with first-degree intentional homicide and held on a $1 million cash bond.
