June Lang, 75, was killed on April 16, 2014, after an argument with her husband in their Oak Creek, Wisconsin, home on West Wayland Drive. The couple had gone to a restaurant at a local casino that afternoon; the argument began on the drive there and continued afterward. According to the husband’s statement to investigators, he retrieved a .22 caliber revolver from a closet and shot June once in the head at close range. June was legally blind and reportedly did not believe her husband when he told her he had a gun. He then attempted to take his own life but only suffered a grazing wound before calling 911.
Oak Creek police found June dead in a bedroom and took her husband into custody. He was charged with first-degree intentional homicide; later that year he pleaded guilty to an amended charge of first-degree reckless homicide and in January was sentenced to eight years in prison. If anyone knew June or heard about tensions in the household leading up to April 16, what can be shared with investigators or the family?
