A dispute at an apartment complex in Cache, Oklahoma, in the early morning hours of June 14, 2019, ended with the death of 26-year-old Nathan Morrow, a member of the Comanche Nation. Morrow was found outside his residence with gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene. The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation and Cache police opened a homicide investigation that led quickly to three arrests.
Nineteen-year-old Devon Julian Cannon, 20-year-old Shannon Marshawn Freeman, and 19-year-old Bre’lon Kyle Tylan Johnson were arrested and held on first-degree murder complaints in the Comanche County Jail. Over the following year, Bre’lon Johnson pleaded guilty in June 2020 to first-degree murder and first-degree robbery and received a life sentence plus 15 years; in July 2020 Devon Cannon and Shannon Freeman pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and were each sentenced to 30 years in prison.
Did anyone in Cache at the time have information about the dispute or the events that night that could shed more light on what happened?
