Bart Samuel Jameson, 40, was fatally shot in the early morning hours of January 30, 2019, at a friend’s home in McAlester, Oklahoma. A man of Choctaw heritage, Jameson served in the U.S. Air Force, graduated from Crowder High School in 1996 and worked in the oil field. He was known locally for riding motorcycles and spending time with friends and family.
Brenda Burdue Savage, a Texas woman in her fifties with no prior record beyond minor traffic violations, was taken into custody at the scene and charged with first-degree murder. Two men who were present, Patrick Dunlap and Truman Kenieutubbe, told investigators Savage shot Jameson without warning; both men were reportedly highly intoxicated and Jameson’s blood alcohol content was more than twice the legal limit. Defense counsel later pointed to inconsistencies in the physical evidence, including the shell casing location for the nine-millimeter handgun, and the narrative of events became contested during legal proceedings.
Did anyone in McAlester know Bart or observe the people involved that night who can shed more light on what happened?
