Dinh Van Hoang, a 64-year-old farmer living near Jay, Oklahoma, was fatally shot at his home about ten miles north of Colcord on June 1, 2018. Two men related to him entered the residence that evening and shot him. The assailants were identified as brothers Waylon and Willie Russell; Waylon was Hoang’s former son-in-law.

After the shooting at Hoang’s home, the Russell brothers also fired multiple shots at a vehicle driven by their cousin Robbie Kirby, striking him once in the shoulder. Kirby survived and was taken to a Tulsa hospital and expected to recover. Delaware County deputies arrested Waylon and Willie Russell soon after the shootings, and the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation assisted. The brothers were charged with first-degree murder and shooting with intent to kill; investigators did not immediately disclose a motive.

Did anyone in the Jay or Colcord area know Hoang or the Russell family and have information that could shed light on why this happened?
