Jared Allen Holmes was a 32-year-old Black man from Altus, Oklahoma, who was found dead on August 20, 2017. Community members remembered him as a barber, a DJ, and a devoted father. His death was described by authorities as a homicide involving gun violence.

Investigators say the killing began with a deceptive phone call that lured Holmes from his home. After leaving, he was ambushed, shot, and his body was taken to rural Tillman County, where it was discovered. The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation assisted the Altus Police Department. Authorities identified a motive as a drug rip and named two suspects, Kenyone D’Marce Jones and Brontae Ja-Rel Hill. Both were later located and arrested in Altus.

If anyone knew Jared, saw him on or shortly before August 20, 2017, or has information about the events that night, please come forward.
