Nathaniel William Ewing, a 20-year-old University of Oklahoma student, was shot in the abdomen during an apparent robbery in the parking lot of the Willow Brook apartment complex on East Lindsey Street in Norman. The attack occurred late on a Sunday night; emergency services were called just before 11:00 p.m. and he was taken to a local hospital. Ewing died the following morning, April 24, 2017, the day he would have turned 20. A second person who had been with him escaped unharmed.
Witnesses saw the suspects flee in a light-colored SUV. Norman police stated they believed Ewing had been specifically targeted and identified persons of interest; within days four individuals were taken into custody in connection with his murder. Ewing was remembered as a kind, humble student studying aviation and engineering.
Does anyone have information about the night at Willow Brook or about the light-colored SUV?
