Jeffrey Jordan Pennington, 42, was fatally shot in Guthrie, Oklahoma, on May 30, 2016. He was traveling with two passengers to a storage unit owned by his ex-girlfriend, Stacey Kennedy, to retrieve personal belongings when a confrontation at the intersection of State Highway 33 and Post Road escalated and a single gunshot struck Pennington in the chest. The Logan County Sheriff’s Office identified two people of interest. Christopher Wade Sheldon, 37, was named as the alleged shooter; investigators say both Sheldon and Kennedy left the scene after the shooting. Agents with the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation and Payne County deputies located Sheldon at a residence in Ingalls and took him into custody on June 2, 2016. Sheldon was booked into the Logan County Jail on a charge of manslaughter in the first degree; Kennedy was booked into the Payne County Jail, initially on an unrelated warrant.
