In the fall of 1999 Buddy Gene Bolding Jr., 23, and his live-in girlfriend Sarah Evangeline York were found shot to death inside their new home near Appalachia Bay on Keystone Lake in Pawnee County, Oklahoma. The area was mostly vacation homes and the couple had recently moved there.
Investigators found no clear signs of forced entry. Sarah’s purse was emptied on a counter. The gun used in the double homicide belonged to Buddy but was not located by the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation during their initial search, even with gun‑sniffing dogs; it was later found in a closet by Sarah’s father and had been wiped clean of fingerprints. Law enforcement has said the motive may have been linked to Buddy’s alleged involvement in selling marijuana and his storied past, but those leads did not produce arrests.
The case remains unsolved and cold, and friends and family continue to seek answers. If anyone knew Buddy or Sarah, their movements, associates, or anything about that fall in 1999, can you help by coming forward?
