Robert Bobby Davis, 45, was shot to death inside a home on Hannah Drive in Clinton, Mississippi, on the evening of May 1, 2022. Davis founded the Better Men Society and was described as a community activist who mentored young men and worked to curb violence; multiple gunshot wounds caused his death and his loss deeply affected the community.
Investigators identified William Polo Edwards, 55, a local internet personality and radio host, as a person of interest. The shooting was tied to a domestic dispute involving a woman known to both Davis and Edwards. A warrant was issued for Edwards, who was arrested in New Orleans two days after the killing and charged with first-degree murder and being a felon in possession of a firearm.
A first trial in August 2023 ended in a mistrial when the jury could not reach a unanimous verdict. There was a later retrial that resulted in a conviction and sentence. Does anyone have verifiable information about Davis’s work with the Better Men Society or details about the night of May 1, 2022?
