A deadly shooting spree on April 27, 2022, tore through a Biloxi beachfront motel and nearby Gulfport, leaving multiple people dead. Laura Lehman, 61, was the property manager at the Broadway Inn Express for about thirteen or fourteen years and lived there with her daughter Brittany. That morning a guest, 32-year-old Jeremy Reynolds, opened fire inside the motel, fatally wounding Lehman and two employees, Mohammad Mo Moeini, 51, and maintenance worker Chad Green, 55. Brittany Lehman had left her mother’s room roughly half an hour before the attack and learned what had happened from a friend.
Reynolds fled in a stolen vehicle, continued his spree into Gulfport, carjacked and fatally shot 52-year-old contractor William Waltman, and then barricaded himself in a convenience store. SWAT entered after negotiations failed and found Reynolds dead; his autopsy showed he died from smoke inhalation after setting a fire. Autopsies for Lehman and the other victims showed multiple gunshot wounds. The motive for the attacks has not been established.
Did anyone have connections to the Broadway Inn Express or the victims that might explain why this motel was targeted?
