Corderius Martez Webster, a 19-year-old Black man, was fatally shot at his family’s home on Hathaway Drive in Clinton, Mississippi, on the afternoon of March 21, 2023. The shooting followed a confrontation after Webster reportedly discovered a 17-year-old, Cutlas Armoni Frazier, attempting to break into his car. The confrontation moved into the backyard, where Frazier is alleged to have shot Webster multiple times. Webster was taken to a local hospital but died of his wounds.

Frazier fled the scene but was located and arrested after the Clinton Police Department used a drone in the search. He was charged with murder and held on a $1 million bond. The case centers on a deadly escalation from an apparent attempted vehicle break-in to lethal gunfire in a residential yard.
