Cordarian Drummer, 31, was shot and killed in Shaw, Mississippi, on February 2, 2022. The fatal shooting prompted an investigation that crossed state lines.

Authorities later located and arrested Jacoris Drummer in Cordova, Tennessee. He was wanted in Bolivar County on charges of murder, aggravated assault, and armed robbery, and faced a separate federal warrant alleging he was a felon in possession of a firearm; the ATF had filed a criminal complaint in the Northern District of Mississippi. Deputies with the Two Rivers Violent Fugitive Task Force found him at a Cordova residence on March 9, 2022, announced their presence, and took him into custody without incident for extradition back to Mississippi.
