Tytus C. Mitchell, 23, was fatally shot on December 13, 2010, in Chicago. The shooting occurred on the South Side in the Englewood neighborhood; he was found with multiple gunshot wounds and died at the scene despite emergency response efforts.

Tytus’s death came during a year when Chicago recorded a high number of homicides, and Englewood was noted for elevated violent-crime levels.
