A New Year’s Eve party on Lewis Avenue in Gulfport, Mississippi, ended in a mass shooting that left 52-year-old Nathaniel Harris and three other men dead. The gathering grew tense between two groups of younger attendees just before midnight on December 31, 2021. A fistfight between Aubrey Lewis, 22, and Corey Dubose, 23, escalated; Sedrick McCord, 28, fired a single warning shot while trying to intervene. Lewis and Dubose then drew guns and shot each other, dying at the scene.
McCord was shot and killed by Isavian Preston, and in the chaos more than 100 rounds were fired into a crowd of roughly 100 people. Harris was wounded, hospitalized, and died from multiple gunshot wounds on the evening of January 2, 2022. Several others were wounded but survived. Investigators initially faced little cooperation but later identified and arrested multiple suspects; some pleaded guilty to various charges and received prison terms or suspended sentences.
Who in Gulfport that night might still have information about what unfolded on Lewis Avenue?
