Leonard Edwards was 22 when he was shot to death outside his home on Luther Drive in Greenwood, Mississippi, in the early morning hours of Saturday, October 16, 2021. Authorities say he was shot six times in the back while a visitor allegedly spent about an hour at the home under the pretense of friendship before the shooting.

Three days after the killing, investigators arrested 18-year-old Jaekwon Huff of Leflore County and charged him with murder. Reports say Huff afterward went to friends’ homes and bragged about the shooting. The Leflore County Sheriff’s Department led the inquiry into Edwards’s death.

What gaps remain is the motive beyond the alleged betrayal and the details of any witnesses who were present during the visit. If anyone knew Leonard, his routines, or witnessed the events on Luther Drive that night, please come forward with information.
