Mark Keyes, 52, was shot to death inside his family’s mobile home on Magnolia Road in Laurel, Mississippi, on September 20, 2021. He suffered multiple gunshot wounds from a .22-caliber rifle; the shooting took place in the kitchen while three young children — ages 7, 3, and a 9-month-old — were in another room of the residence.
The person identified as the suspect was Keyes’ 22-year-old son, Bryson Turner. Turner reportedly barricaded himself in the mobile home after the shooting and later surrendered to the Jones County Sheriff’s Department after a standoff. He admitted to pulling the trigger and was charged with first-degree murder; at his initial court appearance bond was set at $75,000. No clear motive was reported and there were no immediate accounts of a prior argument between father and son.
If anyone knew Mark or has information about what led to this shooting, can you share details with investigators?
