On the night of July 24, 2021, 22-year-old Robben Wilson was shot and killed on Maynard Street in Tupelo, Mississippi. Two friends who were with him at a party that night, 21-year-old Jessica Pannell and 21-year-old Norahs Coleman, were also fatally shot near midnight. The attack left the community grieving three young lives.
Wilson was a standout shooting guard who helped Shannon High School win a championship and volunteered with the Tupelo Police Athletic League. He had planned to begin barbering studies days after the shooting and was remembered for his big personality and constant smile.
Tupelo police arrested several suspects within days: Javion Clifton and Shamar Carroll, followed by the arrest of Taquon Garth in Jackson, Mississippi, and the capture of 17-year-old Jaylen Wells in Albany, New York, in December 2021. All four were initially charged with three counts of capital murder. In September 2023 Carroll and Clifton pleaded to lesser charges and agreed to testify against Jaylen Antwan Wells and Taquon Arnez Garth, who remain charged with capital murder.
Did anyone who knew Robben or the others at the party see something that night or have information that could help the ongoing cases?
