Deundray Hakeem Garth, 28, was found shot and killed inside his home on Underwood Drive in Derma, Mississippi, on September 17, 2020. He had been sleeping earlier that day after staying up all night playing video games; his fiancée Chrishundra Hatchett had left for work in the afternoon. Garth died of two gunshot wounds, one to an upper arm and a fatal wound to his upper back.
Investigators from the Derma police, Calhoun County deputies, and the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation identified two suspects in the case: Wanya Harper, 24 at the time, and Ricco Davion Simmons. Law enforcement says Harper and another person went to Garth’s home the day he was killed. In October 2020 Harper was arrested and charged with murder; Simmons was later implicated and was extradited back to Mississippi to face a capital murder indictment.
The indictment alleges Garth was killed during a burglary of his home. Does anyone have information about Garth, his household, or activity around Underwood Drive on September 17, 2020?
