Bond Mansour, 22, of Tupelo, was shot and killed the evening of July 28, 2020, at the Old Marion Apartments on Old Marion Road in Meridian, Mississippi. Authorities say the incident occurred around 6 p.m. and began as a drug transaction arranged through social media. Police report the meeting escalated into an armed robbery and that Mansour was shot after resisting.
The investigation initially produced an arrest of Sedricious Deshawn Wallace, 20, of Toomsuba, but charges against Wallace were later dropped after another person turned himself in and gave information. Investigators identified two primary suspects: Robert Byrd, 17, who was taken into custody and charged with capital murder and armed robbery and prosecuted as an adult, and LaDarius K. Fowler, 20, for whom a warrant was issued. Fowler was arrested in Alabama in January 2021 and extradited to Lauderdale County to face murder and armed robbery charges; he was held on a $150,000 bond.
