George David Herrin was 85 when he was fatally shot while working as a security guard at Canton Estates apartments in Canton, Mississippi. The shooting occurred the night of June 14, 2020; Herrin was found in his vehicle, shot multiple times. Responding deputies described the killing as execution-style.
