Jajuan Brooks was 18 when he was fatally shot on September 30, 2010, in Chicago’s Auburn Gresham neighborhood. The killing occurred during a period when that part of the South Side faced high levels of gun violence, with longstanding gang activity and socio-economic challenges contributing to rising crime.
Jajuan’s death is one among many young victims who were caught up in the neighborhood’s violence. Community efforts to reduce shootings and improve safety are mentioned, but the area continued to struggle with persistent violent incidents and limited resources.
If anyone knew Jajuan or has information about the shooting, please share what you know.
