On the evening of May 31, 2020, 20-year-old Catera Marie Brown was fatally shot at about 10 p.m. at a gas station on West Northside Drive in Jackson, Mississippi. She was an innocent bystander caught in the crossfire of an altercation, sustained a gunshot wound, and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Born July 12, 1999, in Jackson, Brown was the eldest of seven siblings and an active member of Cherry Grove M.B. Church. A 2017 graduate of Clinton High School, she earned an Associate’s Degree from Hinds Community College in 2019. She worked for Continuum Global Solutions and the University of Mississippi Medical Center and participated in activities including the Mississippi Ballet, cheerleading, fashion, and cooking.
The Jackson Police Department investigated and a male suspect was arrested shortly after the incident and charged in connection with Brown’s death. Did anyone who knew Catera or who was in the area that night see anything that could help the investigation?
