Brandon Wayne Box, 30, was fatally shot on Memorial Day, May 25, 2020, during a prolonged road rage incident on Interstate 10 near the Ocean Springs exit in Mississippi. The encounter reportedly began near the Moss Point exit around 4:30 p.m. and continued for about 17 miles. Box was driving a white 2019 Dodge Ram when occupants of a small white SUV with a Louisiana plate allegedly threw a firecracker into the bed of his truck near the Pascagoula bridge rest area and then fired multiple 9mm shots. Box’s truck was found riddled with bullet holes; he was taken to Ocean Springs Hospital and pronounced dead from a single gunshot wound.

Authorities described the SUV’s occupants as a Black woman driving and a Black man in the passenger seat and asked the public for help identifying the vehicle and occupants. Mississippi Coast Crime Stoppers offered a reward, and Box’s wife, Jessica Hanson Box, publicly urged witnesses to come forward. Is there anyone who saw the vehicles or the sequence of events that afternoon who can share information?
