Sixteen-year-old Cameron Jakel Jones and his 18-year-old girlfriend, Jamesia Brown, were shot while sitting in a parked car outside her home at the Kenny Graves Apartments on Graves Avenue in Natchez during the early hours of May 1, 2020. Deputies from the Adams County Sheriff’s Office arrived after reports of shots fired around 2 a.m. and found both teenagers suffering from gunshot wounds. Jamesia died at the scene from a chest wound; Cameron was taken to Merit Health and died shortly after arrival.

An autopsy confirmed Cameron died of a gunshot wound to the head. An official reported there was no sign of a confrontation and said the shooters apparently came up from behind and opened fire. Cameron’s mother, Pallice Vicks, publicly pleaded for justice as investigators pursued leads and urged the public to come forward.

Does anyone have information about that night or remember seeing suspicious activity near Graves Avenue on May 1, 2020?
