Rodney Harris, 31, was shot and killed in the front yard of his Meridian, Mississippi home on the evening of January 15, 2020. He was ambushed as he got out of his vehicle in the 2700 block of 36th Street and was found unresponsive between the car and the house; he was pronounced dead at the scene. Neighbors reported hearing an argument moments before the shots and later saw two Black males get into a silver or gray Nissan, possibly an Altima, and leave the area.

Investigators said the attack appeared planned and that Harris may have known his assailants, but no motive was determined. The investigation later grew cold: no arrests or specific public suspects have been named and the case remains open. If anyone has information about who was with Rodney that night or about the silver or gray Nissan seen leaving the scene, please share what is known with Meridian police.
