Shauna Harris was 36 when she was killed in her Oak Grove home in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, on the night of December 22, 2019. A beautician and mother of three, she and her husband Percy Harris were living together despite marital problems and her having asked for a divorce. Their eldest son called 911 reporting a heated argument; while waiting for police he heard what he believed were gunshots. Officers found Shauna dead on the bedroom floor. An autopsy reported she had been shot three times in the face and stabbed four times in the forehead. The couple’s five-year-old twins were in the home and physically unharmed.
Percy Harris, a U.S. Army supply sergeant, was at the scene and initially said Shauna had taken her own life, but prosecutors said the wounds were inconsistent with suicide. Percy was arrested and charged with murder. A Lamar County jury later convicted Percy LeRon Harris of first-degree murder and a judge sentenced him to life in prison. Shauna’s sister was granted custody of the three children.
If anyone knew Shauna or has information about the events leading up to that night, please come forward.
