On the evening of July 15, 2019, 38-year-old Courtney Jontrell Todd was shot and killed in the parking lot of the Pure Gas Station on Ladnier Road in Gautier, Mississippi. Surveillance video shows an altercation involving Todd, Jamyrian Wayne Quinn, and Nicholas Curtis. The footage reportedly captures Todd crouching on his knees with his hands raised when Quinn stood over him, punched him, and fired a shot that struck Todd in the neck; Todd died at the scene.

Gautier police treated the death as a homicide. Quinn, then 23, was identified as the shooter and was charged with murder; another man, 25-year-old Parish Ladaven Raper of Gautier, was arrested and charged as an accessory after the fact. At trial prosecutors relied on the surveillance footage and witness testimony, including a witness who said they heard Quinn threaten to kill Todd moments before the gunshot. Quinn testified the shooting was accidental and in self-defense, claiming he intended only warning shots.

A jury convicted Jamyrian Quinn of second-degree murder and the court sentenced him to 40 years in custody with no possibility of parole. If anyone knew Courtney Todd or witnessed the events that evening, please share what can help the investigation and the record.
