Addie May Brenaee was 18 when she was killed in a drive-by shooting on the night of May 19, 2018, in Heidlersburg, Mississippi. She was a passenger in a vehicle traveling on a local highway in the early morning hours when multiple shots were fired into the car. Though other occupants were injured, Addie May was the only person killed. She was a senior at Laurel High School, days away from graduation.

The Jasper County Sheriff’s Department opened an investigation and the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation assisted. Authorities appealed to the public for leads, but no arrests or named suspects have been publicly announced. The case has since gone cold, leaving family and community members without answers.
