Davisha Harris was 19 when she was found dead in an apartment in Lamar County, Mississippi, on October 15, 2017. Deputies discovered her just before noon that Sunday; the cause of death was a gunshot wound. Her death was recorded as the county’s first homicide of the year.

Authorities quickly identified a single suspect. Tracey Terrale Bullock, 27, of McComb, Mississippi, was taken into custody the same day Harris’s body was found, initially on a probation violation. Bullock and Harris were known to each other and had recently begun dating. He was later charged with her murder and ordered held without bond at his first court appearance; deputies say the shooting occurred at an apartment on Foxgate Avenue.
