LaQuinton Walker, 17, was found dead in a neighbor’s yard on Lowndes Street in Aberdeen, Mississippi, in the early hours of Sunday, July 9, 2017. A student at Aberdeen High School and known to friends and family as Quintin or Quint, he sustained a fatal gunshot wound; the Monroe County Coroner confirmed the cause of death and his body was sent to the Mississippi Forensics Laboratory for autopsy.
The Aberdeen Police Department opened a homicide investigation and briefly detained two juveniles for questioning; those two were reported to be the last people seen with Walker. Investigators also said they were pursuing another tip. Beyond those early leads, public information does not clearly report an arrest, an identified primary suspect, or the case’s current resolution.
If anyone knew LaQuinton, witnessed his movements the night of July 8–9, 2017, or has information that could help investigators, please come forward.
