Anderson White III, 22, was shot during a robbery on the evening of June 29, 2017, in Vicksburg, Mississippi. Police responded that night to reports of gunfire near Military and Roosevelt Avenue but found no immediate evidence. The next morning, June 30, a vehicle driven by White was found crashed into a sign around 10:45 a.m., with biological evidence at the scene indicating a violent incident had occurred. About two hours later, at approximately 12:45 p.m., family and friends discovered White’s body in a wooded area in the 2000 block of Military Avenue.
Investigators arrested two primary suspects: 17-year-old Robert Harris and Xavier Clark, each charged with capital murder and armed robbery; authorities identified Harris as the person who shot White. Both were held on $3 million bond. Subsequent arrests included 20-year-old Deangelo Fields and 19-year-old Patrick Chambers, charged with accessory after the fact to capital murder for allegedly trying to sell a handgun believed to be the murder weapon, and 23-year-old Kathleen Barnes, also charged as an accessory after the fact.
What details about the robbery or the movements around Military and Roosevelt Avenue on June 29 and 30 might help explain how events unfolded?
