Keondra Williams, 33, was found shot twice in her car at the Oakhaven Apartments on Shady Lane in Yazoo City, Mississippi, on May 2, 2017. Paramedics declared her dead at the scene; she was a mother of three and reportedly visiting a friend at the complex when the shooting occurred.
Police arrested 25-year-old Richard Johnson the same morning Williams’ body was found, though formal murder charges were not filed immediately. Investigators reported difficulties building the case because potential witnesses were reluctant to cooperate, with fear of reprisal cited as a key obstacle. Later that week Johnson was charged with Williams’ murder; the motive remained unclear in the investigation’s early stages.
If anyone was at Oakhaven Apartments that day or has information about what led to Keondra Williams being shot, please share what is known.
