Jacarius Marquelle Keys, 23, was found shot to death near the intersection of Main and Palace streets in Greenwood, Mississippi, on the evening of December 28, 2016. Investigators described the killing as a targeted attack. Keys was known locally as a lyricist and a barber; his death had a profound impact on family and friends.
The investigation produced arrests. Michael Holland, 22 at the time, was charged with first-degree murder. Ladarius Lemock was charged with acting in concert to commit murder, suggesting authorities believed the killing was planned. The case was connected to a wider series of violent incidents: Armond Jones was later convicted of first-degree murder and three counts of attempted murder and received a life sentence plus consecutive terms for the attempted murder counts. Sedrick Buchanan and James McClung were found guilty of aggravated assault and received maximum sentences for their roles in the related violence.
Does anyone who knew Jacarius or who was in Greenwood that night have information that could clarify what happened?
