Max Daniel Robinson was 15 when he died on Saturday, December 17, 2016, in Meridian, Mississippi. He was at his home on Mt. Horeb Road with family and a friend when a shotgun they were handling discharged; the death was ruled an accidental shooting. Max was a sophomore at Clarkdale High School and the son of a Lauderdale County deputy sheriff.
Remembered as happy-go-lucky and dependable, Max was active in Future Farmers of America and enjoyed basketball, football, hunting, fishing, and the Baltimore Ravens. Friends and teachers recalled him as a smiling prankster who stood up for his beliefs. Clarkdale students and faculty gathered after his death and created a metal cross in his memory. Funeral services were held at the Robert Barham Family Funeral Home, with burial at Center Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
If anyone knew Max or was at the home that day and can share details that might add to the record, please speak up.
