Iam David Simon, a 40-year-old Black man described as an engineer and a devoted father, son, husband, and friend, was found dead in the early hours of December 4, 2016, on Russell Drive near the Highway 39 overpass in Meridian, Mississippi. He was discovered next to a still-running rental car with a single gunshot wound to the head. Simon was not a Mississippi resident and had just left JJ’s Club on Russell Drive; his wallet was missing, and investigators believe robbery was the motive.

The Meridian Police Department identified a primary suspect, Henry Javada Clemons, and warrants were issued for murder and armed robbery. Authorities also arrested Sherry Renee Wilson on two counts of accessory after the fact. Clemons was located and arrested by United States Marshals in San Antonio, Texas, and the case was being prepared for presentation to a grand jury.

If anyone knew Simon, saw him leaving JJ’s Club that night, or has information about what happened on Russell Drive, please come forward.
